Following more than two years of collaborative work, 42 interventional radiology societies from 39 countries have signed onto the “Global Statement Defining Interventional Radiology.”

- Improving the clinical profile and practice amongst its members
- Working with other specialties to improve patient care
- Establishing IR as a recognized sub-specialty
- Improving the referral pathways for patients
- Promoting IR to future physicians
